Midweek Missions & Weekend Adventures

Let’s face it by Wednesday, most of us are ready to swap the desk for the deck and the inbox for the tackle box. That’s why Tigs Fishing Club hosts free Wednesday evening kayak fishing sessions throughout the daylight savings months. It’s open to everyone, no matter your experience level or yak setup. If you’ve got a paddle and a passion for fishing, you’re in.

We rotate through different spots around the stunning Tauranga Harbour, launching at 6pm and wrapping up around 8pm. It’s the perfect midweek reset: fresh air, calm water, and the chance to chase a few fish while soaking up the sunset. These group missions are all about safe, social fishing learning from each other, swapping tips, and enjoying a bit of friendly banter while we drift and cast.

More Than Just Kayaks

At TFC, we’re not limited to one style of fishing—we like to mix it up. We also run flounder netting sessions in the harbour flats, and surfcasting missions off the beach when the tides and conditions line up. Whether you’re chasing snapper, kahawai, or a feed of flounder, we’ve got something for every kind of fishing enthusiast. And we’ve just added a serious weapon to the fleet: our brand new Frewza F14 XW aluminium boat. 

This rig is built tough and ready to tackle any terrain from shallow estuaries to deeper offshore runs. It opens up a whole new world of fishing opportunities, and we’re pumped to get it out there.

We regularly organise weekend and overnight fishing trips around our local coastline, staying at some epic locations that are both scenic and affordable.
